From Dreaming of Home Birthing Herself to Supporting Other Mothers

Falling in Love with Birth Through My Own Journey

- Marjus Story

I fell in love with birth while preparing for my third baby, who I knew would finally be born at home.

With my first child, I had already said: “It doesn’t matter if she is born accidentally at home, maybe in the shower.” Deep down, I was dreaming about a home birth, but I didn’t realize that you could actually plan one.

In Finland, home birth is still very rare.

After giving birth beautifully at home, something shifted inside me.

A fire was lit, and I felt called to support other mothers who dream of birthing at home too.

Creating “I Trust My Birth – A coaching program”

This calling inspired me to create “I Trust My Birth”, an 8-week live coaching program.

In this program, I weave together my knowledge from both transformative coaching and the birth world, focusing on nervous system work and holding space for the deep transformation that pregnancy brings.

Each program has been a powerful reminder of the stren...

From Midwife in the System to Birth Keeper & Business Woman in My Own Way

From Midwife in the System to Birth Keeper & Business Woman in My Own Way

- Emma's Story

When I look back over my own journey, I can see how each chapter of my life, first in nursing, home educating my five children, and as a midwife inside the system, was quietly preparing me for the work I do now.

Almost three decades in mainstream healthcare gave me flexibility when my children were young, but it never truly aligned with my deeper purpose: walking alongside women through the sacred rite of passage that is birth.

When the system finally asked too much of me, I chose to step away.

My years as a midwife inside the maternity system left me with both skills and scars.

I supported countless home births, often quietly, while working within structures that didn’t honour women’s innate wisdom.

Stepping away was necessary, but it was also terrifying, and I felt lost wondering how I could continue this work without the safety net of a job or the familiarity of the system?

I knew I want...

"How my Passion for Birth Became my Business" Fincha's Story

Sep 05, 2025

This month I'm inviting my Birth Business Student's to take over my Blog & share their Business Journey to inspire You on Your Business Endeavours!

Starting with Fincha Carter!

Fincha's Journey to Starting Her Birth Business

My name is Fincha Carter, and I am a sacred birth doula and sound healer living in the south of Sweden with my family.

I see pregnancy and birth as a portal – a threshold into motherhood and into meeting yourself on a deeper level.

That’s how it all began for me.

When I was expecting my first child, it felt as if a small universe was growing inside me.

While I was creating new life, I was also carrying questions that had been quietly resting within me for years:

Who am I when I truly listen to my inner voice?
What am I really longing for?
What is my soul calling?

How I Knew Birth Work was my Calling

I had a deep trust in my body and a clear vision of how I wanted to give birth.

But when I shared my wishes within the healthcare system, I didn’t fe...

The #1 Reason Birth Workers Burn Out and Quit (And How to Burnout-Proof Your Business)

Aug 29, 2025

Let me start by saying this:

Being a birth worker is the best job in the world.

There is nothing more magical than being present as a woman moves through her rite of passage, supporting a family as they welcome new life, and witnessing the raw, powerful beauty of birth.

I love it.
I adore it.
I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

And yet…

Why So Many Birth Workers Don’t Last

The heartbreaking truth is that many incredible doulas and midwives eventually burn out or step away from the work they love.

Not because they want to.
Not because they’re not amazing at what they do and loved for it.
Not because they’ve lost their passion or sense of purpose and calling.

They burn out because they’re relying entirely on in-person work as their main source of income — year after year, birth after birth.

And don't get me wrong, the first few years you want nothing BUT to be in the birth portal.

But after a few years work life balance is craved by many.

Independent midwives choose to take...

The #1 Reason Birth Workers Fail at Business (And How to Fix It)

Aug 22, 2025

If you’ve been in birth work for any amount of time, you know this:

The work itself is magic.

It’s transformative, deeply meaningful, and (in my opinion) the best job in the world.

And yet… so many incredible doulas and midwives struggle to make their business work.

They burn out, they give up, or they keep it as a “side passion” because they can’t seem to make it financially sustainable.

And here’s the thing, it’s not because they’re not talented, passionate, or gifted at doing this ancient sacred women's work.

The #1 reason birth workers fail at business is not having a business mindset (or skills).

Mindset Is 80% and Biz Skills Are 20%

Yes, business skills matter, but really the one thing that will make you fail at business is your mindset.

Most birth workers aren’t failing because they don’t know enough about their craft or aren't amazing at what they do.

They’re failing because their own inner world is stopping them from showing up fully in the world.

I used to be...

How I Became an International Birth Business Woman & Mentor: My Journey to Time & Money Freedom doing What I Love (and Why You Can Have It Too)

Aug 08, 2025

When I look back over the last three decades of my life, it feels as though every chapter, no matter how different it appeared on the surface, was quietly preparing me for the work I do today.

It began in Stockholm during my teenage years sitting in women's circles and learning healing arts and the ways of women, to then go on at 18 to study herblore, nature medicine and healing modalities and later in my twenties human rights & social sciences to only pivot back to the healing arts through massage and spa school, life coaching, yoga teacher training and then diving head first into starting my own business knowing absolutely nothing about how to run a business.

I opened my very own organic day spa where I offered treatments, spa and sauna and yoga.

I was young, naive, and passionate about creating a sanctuary where people could come to relax, heal and feel held.

But I learned quickly that running a business required more than just being skilled in my craft.

It required business sk...
