While mainstream pregnancy guides focus on size comparisons and medical milestones, this blog post is about inviting you into something deeper and more meaningful.
About listening to your body's whispers, honoring your emotions, and deepening your connection with your baby, your body and soul, and your feminine wisdom.
Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fourth, these reflections are here to support you as you walk the spiral path from maiden to mother (or mother again to a new life).
Each week offers an invitation to reflect, realign, and root into the sacred unfolding of life within.

Weeks 4–6
Theme: Awakening & Trust
Baby: At this early stage miraculous things are already unfolding. Your baby is a tiny cluster of intelligent cells rapidly multiplying and becoming. The placenta is becoming the life giver it was designed to be, and soon your baby’s heart will start beating.
Mother: Fatigue, heightened sense of smell, and deep exhaustion are common signs that you have conceived. And maybe there is a whisper in your heart and womb before you know for sure?
Reflection: Begin a weekly grounding practice—barefoot in nature, hand on womb, one deep breath at a time. This is your initiation. Your body is becoming the sacred vessel. Your baby's soul is listening. Speak to your amazing body, womb and baby about the dreams and visions you hold.
Weeks 7–9
Theme: Deepening Inward
Baby: Facial features begin to form, limb buds grow, and the heartbeat becomes detectable. Your baby is now the size of a blueberry.
Mother: You may feel nausea, food aversions, emotional waves. Your senses heighten as your inner world deepens. Allow yourself to be pulled inward. Allow the fogginess of mind to envelop you with it's wisdom.
Reflection: Your intuition is sharpening. Keep a soul journal nearby. Write down dreams, emotions, and inner guidance. Light a candle daily. Whisper to your baby. You are beginning to mother.
Weeks 10–12
Theme: Rooting in the Mystery
Baby: Fingernails, eyelids, and tiny organs are forming. Your baby starts to move, though you can’t feel it yet.
Mother: Emotions may fluctuate. You might begin to feel less symptoms or they are still intense as you are being called to slow down to give energy and focus to the creation of new life. You might feel at peace and also feel vulnerable or overwhelmed.
Reflection: Begin a simple ritual of touch—gentle belly massage with nourishing oils. Bless your womb. Trust in what you can’t yet see. You are co-creating life with the universe.
Weeks 13–15
Theme: Expansion & Expression
Baby: Your baby can swallow and begins to make facial expressions. A fine layer of lanugo hair appears at this time. So much is happening for your little one.
Mother: Energy returns. Nausea often fades. You may begin to show and feel more expressive and more social. Creativity bursts.
Reflection: Let this energy move through you. Sing. Dance. Create art. Start a pregnancy journal FOR your baby that you can give as a gift when they are older.
Weeks 16–18
Theme: Communion
Baby: Your baby’s hearing begins to develop. They may begin to respond to your voice and the sounds of the world.
Mother: You may begin to feel the first flutters—quickening. Your connection deepens.
Reflection: Speak to your baby aloud. Play music for them. Tell them about Life. Meditate with your womb. Visualize a golden thread between your heart and theirs and speak through the heart.
Weeks 19–21
Theme: Claiming Your Power
Baby: Organs continue maturing. Your baby is the size of a banana. Tastebuds are developing and your baby can taste what you are eating.
Mother: Confidence often rises now. You may feel more embodied, intuitive, and protective.
Reflection: Begin building your birth team. Ask: Who sees me? Who honors my sovereignty? Claim your role as the wise woman preparing to birth and mother.
Weeks 22–24
Theme: Embodiment
Baby: Eyelids open, fingerprints form, and your baby is growing rapidly in strength and awareness.
Mother: Your belly expands. You may feel achy as the belly get's heavier and stretch marks might start to appear. Sleep patterns might shift. And you might feel everything from excitement and anticipation to highly sensitive.
Reflection: Embrace embodiment practices—prenatal yoga, walking meditations, gentle stretching. Create a blessing altar for your baby—photos, herbs, symbols of love. Connect to self and loved ones and shut out the rest.
Weeks 25–27
Theme: Visioning Birth
Baby: The nervous system is maturing. Your baby can recognize your voice and may respond to music or touch. Lot's of movement increase your connection and bond.
Mother: Your body handles an increased pressure and swelling, heartburn, aches and pains may be present. But so is your baby's movements and you're over the point where your baby now is on the side of the threshold of being able to survive outside your womb. This can increase many women's feelings of safety and a deep sense of calm. You may start feeling like preparing your home, your mindset, your soul for birth and the postpartum. Nesting may begin.
Reflection: Journal your vision for your birth—not as a plan, but as a prayer. Design your birth space in your mind. What smells, lighting, music will nourish you? Write your birth affirmation. Let yourself dream!
Weeks 28–30
Theme: Inner Fire & Boundaries
Baby: Your baby is growing quickly and gaining more fat stores, which help with temperature regulation after birth. As they gain weight they begin to look more like a newborn. Their sleep and wake cycles are forming.
Mother: You may feel more sensitive to external energy. You may crave solitude or deep connection. It's time to truly protect your space and mind and heart. You might have to pee more than before due to the pressure from your womb and your body might or might not have started colostrum production.
Reflection: Begin protecting your energy. Say no more. Begin rituals that support your shift from doing to being. Weekly womb blessings, herbal foot soaks, sacred baths. Bring your energy home.
Weeks 31–33
Theme: Surrender
Baby: Brain development continues at a rapid pace, and the baby is starting to practice some critical functions, such as breathing movements, swallowing, and blinking. The baby’s nervous system is maturing and their bones are hardening.
Mother: Fatigue may return. Restlessness may arise. Emotional waves can come unexpectedly. Birth is approaching.
Reflection: Begin closing loops. Finish projects. Bathe often if it gives you relaxation and comfort. Listen to empowering birth stories. Allow your soul to soften and prepare. Begin creating a sacred space in your home for birth and postpartum.
Weeks 34–36
Theme: Threshold Preparation
Baby: The baby’s sense of hearing is fully developed, and they can recognize voices and sounds. The baby may respond to stimuli, such as light or music, and some babies react to loud noises or the mother’s voice. The lungs are maturing and some organs are fully functioning like the kidneys and the digestive tract is ready for milk. Your baby may be head down as they are preparing to descend.
Mother: You may feel a mix of anticipation, excitement, and vulnerability. Increased vaginal discharge and insomnia, braxton hicks and shortness of breath all indicate birth is coming closer.
Reflection: Prepare your postpartum sanctuary. Receive a mother blessing. Write letters to your baby and to your future self. Ask: What do I need to feel held through birth and early motherhood?
Weeks 37–42+
Theme: Birth Portal
Baby: Your baby is getting ready to enter the world on their own time. They are waiting for the perfect moment. For when their lungs are matured to perfection, the stars align and you are ready.
The baby’s body is accumulating fat to help regulate temperature after birth. This fat also provides energy for the baby after birth, especially before the milk comes in and the baby’s brain is developing rapidly, with neurons connecting and becoming more refined every day.
No day is wasted!
Mother: You are in liminal space—between worlds. Rest. Nest. Walk. Breathe. This is the time to let go. No more doing only being.
The baby’s head may have engaged (dropped) into the pelvis, which can relieve pressure on the diaphragm but increase pressure on the bladder, causing more frequent urination. Some women may also feel more pressure in the pelvic area and hips, making walking, standing, or sitting uncomfortable.
Braxton Hicks contractions may become more intense and frequent. These practice contractions can help prepare the cervix and uterus for labor. Some women might experience more noticeable early labor contractions, but true labor contractions will become regular and more intense over time.
The loss of the mucus plug is often an early sign that the cervix is beginning to dilate and soften in preparation for labor. This may happen in pieces over several days or all at once. Sometimes, the mucus plug can be tinged with blood, which is often referred to as "bloody show". Labour might be close or still days away.
Many women experience a surge of energy as they near the end of their pregnancy. The nesting instinct peaks, and the urge to prepare the home—cleaning, organizing, and arranging the baby’s space—can feel overwhelming or comforting.
Signs of Pre-Labor: Some women may experience lower back pain, lightning crotch (sharp pelvic pain), or more frequent or irregular contractions. These can be early signs of labor, but many women will still experience several weeks of pre-labor symptoms before true labor begins.
Reflection: Anchor into trust and surrender. Into ultimate Beingness. You are not waiting. You are journeying. You are fully held by the great mystery and the divine from which you came.
You are ready.
But when you walk pregnancy as a sacred path—tending body, mind, and soul—you become the wise woman, the portal, the priestess of new life.
You are birthing more than a baby.
You are birthing a new world.
