Implantation bleeding is a small amount of spotting or light bleeding that can happen when a fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine lining.
This usually occurs about 6–12 days after ovulation, which for many women is right around cycle day 20–26, or week 4–5 of pregnancy (though they might not know they’re pregnant yet).
It can look like:
A pinkish, light brown or rust-colored spot
A single wipe or small streak
Light bleeding that lasts a few hours or
