In Sweden, we call it Midsommar, a time rich with tradition, wildflowers, fertility rites, dancing, and celebrations.
This is the longest day and shortest night, a cosmic crescendo—the sun at its peak, the earth in full bloom, and the invitation for us, too, to stand fully in our own light and shine as nature!
In the sacred spiral of the seasons, summer is the season of the Mother & Birth.
Of creation & full expression.
Just as the Earth Swells with Abundance, so too does the Womb of the Mother ready to Birth!
Summer is the season of birth—literal and metaphorical.
It’s the time when ideas conceived in the season of winter and planted in spring come into fruition.
For the woman walking the path of pregnancy this solstice offers a mirror.
You are the embodiment of the season—full to the brim, powerfully shining and glowing with the creative force of life itself.
You are summer embodied.
Maybe you know not of the inner seasons of a woman's life.
Let me share them with you.
We have the seasons of our life and the season of our moon that are special to us women.
In the spiral of a woman’s life, we move through the sacred seasons of:
Maiden (Spring) (follicular) – A time of becoming, exploring, and blossoming into our potential.
Mother (Summer) (ovulation) – The fullness of fertility, creativity and wild, radiant love.
Maga (Autumn) (luteal) – The wise woman before the Crone. A season of harvest, of inner power, of seeing with clear eyes.
Crone (Winter) (follicular) – The deep stillness of knowing, the keeper of wisdom, the elder who carries the stories of us all.
Each season lives within us, just as it lives in the land.
When we honor these inner cycles, we soften into life’s transitions with more grace and trust.
Because we recognize them within us as well as outside of us.
Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are some of the most profound portals through which we cross from one season to the next.
Maiden to Mother.
Spring to Summer.
The Summer Solstice reminds us to celebrate that crossing.
Midsummer is the biggest Celebration in Sweden.
Families and friends come together to mark this special time in the wheel of the year, the peak of the sun and so should we mark and celebrate the special time of pregnancy, of becoming mother and of giving birth to new life.
If You are a Mother to Be - The Mother Blessing Ceremony is a way of Honoring the Season of The Mother, the Peak of your Full Bloom.
Ritual, Rhythm, and Remembrance
Midsummer has long been a time of flower crowns, sacred fires, fertility rites, and the celebration of abundance.
But beneath the festivities lies an ancient knowing: that when we live in rhythm with nature and her seasons, we come home to ourselves and our true nature.
To honor this day:
Rise with the sun and offer gratitude to the light
Create a flower crown and adorn your head
Reflect on what you are birthing right now—be it a baby, a business, a new self
Connect with your body & your womb—and remember: You are Sacred, You are Nature.
Living the Wheel, Living in Wholeness
The more we honor the turning of the wheel of the year and the turning of our own inner seasons, the more connected we become to the ancient rhythm that births, sustains, and renews life.
This Midsummer, may you feel the fullness of your own light.
May you remember that you are nature.
May you dance barefoot in the grass, laugh under the midnight sun, and claim your place in the ever-turning wheel.
Happy Midsummer, beloved. 🌞🌼
