Becoming the Midwife Her Soul Already Knew She Was - Sigrid’s Evolution Into Home Birth Midwifery

In this inspiring and thought-provoking episode, I sit down with Sigrid, a Swedish home birth midwife whose calling arrived like a lightning bolt and reshaped the entire trajectory of her life.

Today she has been a home birth midwife for one and a half years, but her path into this work has been layered, unexpected and deeply guided.  

Sigrid shares how she once believed she would become a veterinary assistant, even getting accepted into the program, when suddenly a powerful inner knowing rose up inside her and said, No, you are meant to be a midwife. The calling seemed to come from nowhere, surprising even her family, but everyone around her could see instantly how perfectly it fit who she truly is.  

We explore her journey from nearly becoming a veterinary assistant to studying nursing, working years in the NICU, and eventually spending four years in the hospital system as a registered midwife before making the courageous transition into home birth midwifery.  

Sigrid opens up about her midwifery philosophy, how she supports women in the home birth space, and what it has meant for her to step into work that aligns with her values, intuition and deepest truth. She shares how home birth midwifery has expanded her, challenged her, and brought her into fuller embodiment as a woman and a space holder.  

We also dive into her birth business journey, how she is stepping into entrepreneurship, and how she is beginning to offer birth trauma healing work both in person and soon online.
