Becoming a Birth Worker Before Motherhood - Tjaša’s Story - The Birth Worker Interview Series

Season #2

Welcome to a brand new chapter on the Sacred Birth Worker & Biz Podcast called The Birth Worker Interview Series.

For the next couple of months, I will be sitting down with birth workers from all around the world. Seasoned midwives. Experienced doulas. Newly emerging sacred birth workers. Women at every stage of this path who felt the call rise within them and chose to follow it. I'll ask about their journey both as birth worker & biz woman.

My intention is for this series is to inspire you, encourage you, and remind you that there are many ways to walk into birth work and do birth work successfully. There is no perfect starting point and no single path.

In this heartfelt and inspiring conversation today, I sit down with Tjaša, one of my Sacred Birth Worker Mentorship students who is just weeks away from completing her journey.

She is a shining example of what it means to follow the call of birth work from a place of intuition, even before becoming a mother herself.

We begin at the roots of her calling.

What first awakened inside her?

How did she know birth work was meant for her, even before birthing babies herself?

We talk openly about the myth that you must have children to be an amazing and gifted birth worker.

She also shares how she found the Sacred Birth Worker Mentorship, what made her say yes, and the inner transformations that unfolded throughout her journey, personally, spiritually, and in her confidence as a space holder.

One of the things I admire most about Tjaša is that she began serving clients before even finishing the mentorship.

In this episode, she shares what gave her the courage to begin, the reality of showing up for women early on, and how taking action became medicine for her imposter syndrome.

We also explore:

• How she began networking and weaving community with other doulas and birth workers in Slovenia

• Her upcoming podcast with a fellow doula and the vision behind it

• The fears she carried in the beginning and how she moved through them

• How the birth worker journey has changed her as a woman far beyond the profession itself

Finally, Tjaša shares her dreams for 2026, her vision for her sacred work, and how you can find her, connect with her, and follow her offerings as she steps into the next chapter of her calling.

If you’re a woman who feels the whisper of birth work in your own body, this episode will remind you that you are not too young, too inexperienced, too late, or too anything… you are called.

And the call itself is the initiation.

Tune in and let yourself be inspired by the magic, honesty and courage Tjaša brings to this path.
